On the surface level, she received a B.A. in Psychology with enough credits to minor in art with a 3.9 GPA from Saint Joseph College in West Hartford, Ct. She graduated in 2007 with summa cum laude honors and as a Psi Chi member. Jennifer is writing two books Healing Fibromyalgia with Devotion and A Spiritual Approach to Eating Disorders as well as a manual for Soul Work. Jennifer is a certified Jivamukti yoga teacher from Yoga Alliance. Jennifer does her best to practice sustainable living. Practicing ahimsa, she consumes either raw food or is vegan.
A valued member of the community, Jennifer participates in many forms of giving back to the community. For example, she volunteered at Bridge Family Center since January 2007-current running art therapy directives for different populations including adults, at risk-youth and fifth grade girls. Other highlights include participating in letter writing to prisoners through Amma's Circle of Love, yearly ashram, stays with Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) doing karma yoga or seva (selfless service) in India as well as part of her U.S. tour the last three years. Jennifer does speeches about Amma, meditation and yoga to local school groups, middle through high school. She often donates to charities such as gifts of love, salvation army, and all our kin (an orphanage in New Haven, Ct).
Past Service work includes: Convalescent home visits, fund raising for Girl Scouts, and donations to Interval House, a shelter for woman suffering from physical abuse.
Jennifer’s current spiritual practice outside of the ashram includes minimum 2 hour sitting meditation, 3+ hours Kundalini and Jivamukti yoga, daily mantra japa, frequent meditation and yoga retreats as well as stays in Amma’s ashram in India. This is possible because when doing lots of spiritual practice, being generally healthy and eating well, one has to sleep very little.
May the only storms in your life be the raining down of God’s grace.
